Armour Steel – SF600

SF600 is the best performing steel alloy for protection against armor piercing (AP) bullets. Thanks to a 550 to 600 HBW hardness, SF600 steel panels are able to break AP projectiles’ core and provide efficient protection with reduced weight compared to High Hard (500HB) material.

Armour Steel is a popular high hardness armor grade steel. Armour Steel SF600 is designed to reduce or prevent penetration from a variety of incoming projectiles and is widely used in security and personal protection applications including vehicle and building defense. Since application or threat levels vary, actual thickness required varies based on projectile. Protection can be increase by using thicker plates or by laminating plates together.

Commercial / Non-Military Applications:
SPT Steel Armor Plate is used in the manufacture of money haulers, personal armored vehicles, riot shields, body armor, vehicle door panels, safe rooms, guard booths, bank counters. Bulldog Steel Armor Plate is also used in land mine and blast protection applications.
